2008/09 season - League Race

After aw the chatter aboot the AHWg looking to be a stong team challenging this year it seems they're struggling for a team, still looking for players to add to their Summer League winning team. Or so im told.

The station appears to have an 18 man squad and so far are saying if there are 14 boys in the pub for the team on any one night, 14 will play. None of this playing the strongest team you've got.

Also from what i hear its a mass Exodus from the windsor A team. Also heard their ...

Hustlers Boxing Day Pool Competition

Years ago there used to be a competition each year on Boxing Day at the burns it had 3 tables and lasted all day something like this would be a good idea maybe for this year, i think the buck has a tournament on boxing day don't know how bust it is, the burns used to hire 2 tables for the day maxwells would be a excellent venue for a big tournament but you would have to have a garanteed amount of players say 64.

The singles League Fixtures are up go to the home page(green screen) to get to link (singles league on left column),there are 12 players so 6 get 6 home ties and 5 away and 6 get 5 home and 6 away just the luck of the draw.

the date is the start of the 2 weeks to play the fixture ignore the time,all phone numbers will be made available text result to me or post result on web.

as the auld hoose windygates have now missed there second meeting they are deducted another point and it was mentioned by the commity that 3 and team would be thrown out the league i think this rule is taking it to far we dont want to lose teams i think points deducted and a fine should be enough.

windsor also missed the meeting and lose a point

empire wanted there point back for not attending the last meeting as they had not received proper notification of the new meeting they were informed ...

the league for season 08-09 will be played to blackball rules as most of the leagues in britain now play these rules it was thought to try them out in competition and with more players getting used to the new rules it may help to maybe use these rules in our own league at some point in the future.

A player has pulled out of the singles league and we are going to bring in a player to play in his place.....there will be 2 matches to catch-up as brians scores will be deleted.

Seems i wasnt the only nugget to get caught out wi that backwards rule! one brig player did the same but was let off the hook. Fair enough i say.

The point of this rule is not to catch your opponent out to win on a technicallity!!! its to stop being beat by a fluke, a shot of no skill. So where is the harm in a ref saying "nominate your bag" as you get to the black? No decent player/team should want to take a frame in that way, so although it wont make a bit o difference i'm gonnae ...

League Race

Blazers were 4-2 up versus the kirkland they conceded the last 2 singles and 3 doubles a pity as they have a few good players 2 or 3 more and it would have been a close game

even with the odds of winning against us they still turned up to play the game with only 6 players other teams may just have said oh fuck it we dont have a team whats the point.

kirkland came 6th in the league last season but sit bottom this

It seems like we're one of the only leagues about that doesn't run a summer league. Just wondered if this is something that teams would be interested in. Keeping in mind that would could easily change the format so suit, so we wouldn't need teams to have 8 every week.

It'll soon be summer again well for a couple of weeks anyway, the pool season ends on the 22 june fucking ages away anyway the Blazers Open is a golf tournament run each year the last thursday of July 31 usally taking place at the scoonie but not confirmed. anyone wishing to take part this year are more than welcome entry fee is �5 .presentation back at blazers and good old swally honk honk.

handicaps are based on players being fair about there score 80 is scratch so if you usally get 85 then ...

Well the season is on it's run in, we're aw talking about ideas for next season, hopefully a small shake up is on the cards. It seems the biggest shake up could be the movements of the players from team to team.

What to do is (inspired by sky sports) put the state of play in the subject window 'Transfer Roumours' 'Done Deal' 'Negotiation' etc, post if ye want. We can put up spaces to advertise for players, teams and venues.

I'm just bored, so here goes...

Here goes: everyone who wishes to play in this gives me or stoo their names and entry fee and then we get the draw done, whoever ur drawn against you will have a 3 week period to complete ur fixture just like with ur league matches but with an extra week to help out the players who are struggling to find time to play their matches already.

At the end of the 75 baw challenge there will be a trophy and �� for the winner (prize money depends on entries)

How about getting all the points for the AGM listed so they can be put in before it. It's always a last minute thing and no-one remebers on the day what they wanted to talk about. Get them all listed now, get them printed out and added on the agenda so we get the leagure runnning the way we want next year.

We had a great night out last year in Edinburgh. Bowling, strippers, then nightclub. We should have went home after the titty bar though, night clubs are hell. Bit far to go though, can do all that in Dunfermline now .

some players from leven are thinking of starting a team to play in the glenrothes pool league from next season 08-09 the rules are black ball rules we need at least 10 players on a wednesday night any one interested post on this forum.

i dont know what venue we're going to use maybe woodside inn B team sounds good.

if leven does start a team their needs to be a letter written to the committee asking to join the league with a captain at the meeting, bond is �100 say a �10 each dont know ...

As the Douglas is still closed the draw has been altered with players from the douglas venue being added to other venues. the Argyle now has 4 Qualifiers instead of 2, all other venues still have 2 qualifiers.

The Captain and Vice Captain competition is usally for the Captain and Vice but anyone can enter. it is usally members of the team that go to the meetings and not so serious as the other competitions entry is free only 1 team is allowed to enter any team not wanting to enter is fine, it takes place on a wednesday night the 26th of March 8pm with 1 qualifying from each venue.

Hustlers Summer League. Tuesday Nights.

Prize Fund �1000 minimum (based on 32 Players).(more welcome)prize fund goes up the more that enter

Entry fee: �25.per player

10 weeks: 3rd June till 5th August.

2 weeks catch up: (any of the 10 weeks)

Format: 6 frames, up to 3 games per week.per player

Points: 1 point per frame, 3 points win, 1 point draw.

Re-development may be afoot with a sale, demolition and re-build of cheap housing.
