Playing for Levenmouth

Post  joebuck on Tue Oct 05, 2010 8:45 am

Levenmouth put a team (11 man) into the Kingdom cup on 3 October held at Styx in Glenrothes, the team did very well indeed considering that it was put to-gether at short notice and had several call offs at last gasp, the team qualified to the next stage after finishing second in their group, before just losing 6 - 4 to Midlothian "B" in the knockout stages.

The highlight of the day was the team beating the East of Fife League "A" team in the group stages, what a result Laughing

Anyway moving forward, Levenmouth are now part of the SPA and therefore are entitled to enter teams into the Super 11's and Super 15's events, 11's are held around February / March each year, 15's in November, "A" team goes to Craig Tara and the "B" team or teams go to Pettycur Bay, the tournaments are run over a weekend starting on a Friday evening and finishes on the Sunday afternoon / evening, these are fantastic events that the Levenmouth league should really be part of.

Cost to enter plus caravans and shirts usually come to around 50 per head ish.

So come on Levenmouth show the rest of Scotland what you are made off and get your names down to play.

All players in the league are now requested to put their names forward for this and make themselves available for selection, so don't sit around waiting to be asked get your names to either of the following guys to let them know you are interested.

Brian Thomson and Alan McWilliams, both play for the Brig

These are fantastic events and a good test for your game, you should all be proud to play for your league at National events like this.

The amount of teams that Levenmouth want to enter need to be lodged with the SPA on 31 October for the Feb / Mar events, so no time to waste make your interest known ASAP.
