Very simple mate

when a ball goes in a pocket that is the end of that ball for the frame (apart from the white), but when a ball is all over the pub and not down a pocket then it is still alive and it goes on the blackspot or as close to as possible in straight line from bottom cushion.

But be aware there is a slight change if ur league goes blackball rules as seems to be the rumour for next year Question

Once a ball has stopped for more than 5 seconds and it is hanging over a bag, then it is deemed as stopped, so then if it drops into the pocket on its own accord later in the frame then it goes back on the table as close as possible to where it was before it dropped in, (over the pocket) not on the black spot.

spotting balls and re-rack

Post  cab on Wed Mar 10, 2010 5:13 am

In this order: on black spot, first is the black then the balls of the oncoming player then any other balls

Normal re-rack is 15 Balls.
Original breaker breaks again.

9 ball re-rack for slow and negative play. rack balls and remove lead ball and back line.
Re-lag for break.

Pool rules
the match beetween argyle and railway in the doubles at the score 1-1 the argyle pushed one of there balls towards the bag where the railways last ball was at the pocket
railways last ball was covered by the argyle colours but the white did go through the covering balls but not in a straight shot.
if the white goes past the opponents balls even if it hits a ball straight after that aslong as there is enough room for the white to go past the opponents balls it is ok.

dont now who won this match i left after both teams played the frame again.

railway asked who's break is it, its the same frame who frock the frame that got replayed.

it seems there are lots of rules that players dont know, we may as well bring in the bluckball rules they say they dont know them but they dont know any rules.

There may be a Leven B********* rule for this that I am not aware of.

But the way this rule is usually sorted out is if there is enough room for white to pass then there is no re rack, but on another note a re rack can be played at anytime if all players involved agree, negitive play, frame going no where or whatever.

100 ball
the rule where a player misses a colour, he then deducts 3 points from his teams score
this rule has turned up a couple of times now against blazers
it happened in the game versus buck and again in the final
sean was trying to draw up to a colour for a safty leaving no pot ,he did but missed the colour and never left a pot as well with a full rack to play at the next player had no pot he may have potted 10 or 15 balls.
this rule has to be looked at as it is a loop hole in our rules.

this is a similiar problem in snooker if a player misses a ball and the ref would have called a four and free ball, if the player make a foul like miss cue or hits a ball with his cue , its only a foul no miss, trange

well as we hope 2 change to blackball rules for next year there will b no reason 2 look at this as the cushion rule will be in affect there by taking away the opportunity 2 roll up behind a ball

well pointed out but will we be playing new rules in the 100 ball competition and hopefully we do play blackball rules

the rules we use in the league are different to the 100 ball , if a foul is commited in the league you have the choice to pick up the cue ball but not in the 100 ball, in 100 ball if teams foul they lose 3 points but the other team are not allowed to pick up the cue ball
this is what im on about, if i didn't explain it clearly before

a see what ur sayin stoo about the foul situation but is right to punish a team twice by takin 3 of for a foul plus bein able to lift the white??? seems a bit harsh. another thing could maybe think about is give the player comin to the table the choice, would he like the 3 off for a foul and play the white from where it lies or would he like to lift it and put it back in the D and no points come off, just an idea.

I pointed it out cos its happened a couple of times to blazers this year the time it was done v buck'n'hynd i think sammy drew upto a ball and missed then baba said i'll move it, staight away buck players said no and they new the rule we were not to sure, there are some rules that if you dont know them you canny look at the rules to find out, some are as baldy pointed out before, this rule has been made at a league meeting i think and has not been put in the rules, some rules are unwritten rules.
if the rules the same next year it has to be changed cos its wrong as you say maybe the choice would be an idea points or moving the white, in some cases moving the white won't be of an advantage either.

in the league if you foul you lose 2 shots and secondly the white can be moved as well thats being penalised twice Wink

Surely the answer has to be to get the 100 ball rules written down and given to all teams before the start of the new season.

Bundy - Even if the league changes to Blackball rules and you cannot move the white in 100 ball whats to stop a player playing a deliberate foul by trying to tuck the white up behind a ball to stop the oncoming player having a shot.

a think this is gettin to much looked in to, theres gonna be advantages and dissadvantages to rules and fouls, stoo if this had went in favour of the blazers there would be nothin on the site questionin it, if the rule gets changed its still gonna cause an argument. a think it should be one or the other, move white or 3 points off, a think using the 2 of them are a bit harsh, if it changes and u get beat because ur team fouls and uz get 3 off and guy comes on from bein in a hard position to pickin the white up and dishing 30 and puttin uz out ud be cursin the rule. its always gonna be a rule that doesnt please everyone

It seems this rule dosent affect you meathead it does, it couldent have favoured blazers after sean missed the ball it was safe in the possision it was in

after this foul happened again to blazers i thought i should mention it, 100 ball is about potting balls even if you have what looks like a basic clearance but as we all know it's harder than that for some reason.
it dosent matter who the team is that its happened to, it's fair for all teams thats what we want in our league, rules that are wrong must be changed for the good of pool, i would say

if blackball rules are the main rule and used in the 100 ball you have to hit a colour then hit a cushion to play a legal shot, no rolling up to a ball to play safe, this may help

who is hector brocklebank is he a better candidate, maybe we should meet him clown

any way I canny see that my idea's are gonna convince people there right or wrong, its like politics Rolling Eyes

IMO, a player should be able to lift white after a foul whether it be 100 baw or whatever, that is rule in league so should be same in 100 baw, should be lose 3 points and lift white if player wants 2.

U do not get punished twice, player has made a foul stroke and therefore should be punished.

In normal league game u get 2 visits, a free table and lift the white.

Do u look at that as getting punished 3 times Question

The Empire protest

Post  joebuck on Sat Oct 16, 2010 11:17 am

Should have kept ur tenner in ur pocket boys.

The protest that will be heard at the next meeting from the Empire v Douglas is about a frame when a Douglas player potted the black and his chalk had fell onto the playing surface from the side of the table.

The chalk was not used as a marker nor did it make contact with any ball, so no foul was committed, we even told them that if a ball had touched the chalk then it would have been a foul.

Anyway check out link below for conirmation Very Happy
