thats a scary clown picture, I wilni sleep the night

well some may not be happy with this, I set the date for 22 November with 2 weeks to play the first fixture
2 fixtures before christmas then 10-january-11 start again till 7-march-11, then the quarters start if you qualify

i will get all the fixtures in a sheets to all the players (leave them in their teams league folder for near the end of this week)

so everyone can have an extra week to play their 1st game , 15 november

remember their are 30 sheets with all the phone numbers and fixtures to print, not everyone has the internet

all the teams in each section were loaded into the program and thats the way home ties were made up
the computer made the draw, so nothing to do with me, everyone gets at least 3 home games

the fixtures and league table are completed http://lpl.leaguerepublic.com/

Re: Singles League Forum

Post  STOO01 on Tue Nov 09, 2010 2:47 am

I had a couple of text messages about the jathros after the draw has been made for there to be a last 16 now, there has never been a last 16 knock out
take last year it was groups of 6 or 7 with 2 going through to the last 8 no one had a problem then

if it's to get through to the last 16, 4 qualify from the groups we have 3 or 4 go out then last 16 , why have a group stage just play knock out, it seem not many will be knockout at the group stage if 4 qualify (half the group to qualify not much of a challenge really)

it was meant to be 24 players and that was it with 4 groups of 6 (no free weeks)
8 groups of 4 would have been an idea and 1 winner to make the last 8 but no one gave their suggestion's about this or their own idea

aww its good to be back lol. if a knew a was able to get back on here a would have posted my suggestions. i would have put forward that 4 from each group go through which makes it a last 16 knockout. the reason for this is, it gives some of the so called lesser players a chance to quailify, for example anyone in deek or babas group are only playin for 1 place, thats what i think anyway, i know its only putting 3 0r 4 boys out but for the boys who do qualify it could maybe give them an extra game or 2. just what i think.

Re: Singles League Forum

Post  STOO01 on Wed Nov 10, 2010 9:33 pm

just finished the sheets with the fixtures and phone numbers

as im off work today i'll put the sheets in the pub pool folders today (all have been delivered)
the league wont start for a week 22 nov - but it can start now 15 nov will mean everyone has an extra week

blackball rules as before , no timed games as there may only be the two players at the venue no ref

6 frames in the group stages
remember to play all the frames, as points for a win and draw count and frame difference is used as well
if everone can play all there games even if they feel they can not qualify, players fighting for the top 2 places will need to play all games , do not concead a match

7 frames in the knock-out stages
when the quarters start it wont matter about playing all the frames as the 1st to 4 frames wins

top 2 qualify, there was talk of make it 4 but this defeats the purpose of playing a league competition as only 3 or 4 players would be nocked out at this stage

groups were meant to be 4 groups of 6 with 2 qualify, as more players were let in it grew to 7 or 8 per league
i think if the competition is held next year with more players it may be 8 groups

last year it was groups of 6 and 7 with players dropping out as well

1992-93 - the champions league started with 2 groups of 4 and only the winners qualified for the final

suggestion for next year stoo. what about even doing 2 divisions. if you had 24 players, 12 in each division and play promotion and relagation, make it more interesting, 4 go up and 4 go down? that would keep everyone on there toes, ones at the bottom on division 1 fightin to stay in it and boys midd table of second division gives them something to fight for. so if you kept a record from this year and put all top seeds in division 1. just a suggestion

that sounds like what the jathros was meant to be the 1st year we started it, but the way we played it with every frame as a point it didnt work and the 2 league thing was dropped as well , still it is an idea for next year

the prize money was split between the 2 leagues 120 1st , 100 2nd

it was decided to make it small groups of 5 or 6 so everyone had a chance to qualify for the final and bigger prize

all the jathros sheets have been put in the pool folders (pub folder) of the players that are taking part

first player to drop out the league,

brian thomson has pulled out the league from section A

all his matches will be void and no player will get any points for this fixture, like groups C & D

still to get in contact with Rab Clark from section B
if anyone has any contact with him, or is aware if he has the same number and is he still playing in the jathros

I dont see the point in dropping out the competition as all league fee's have been payed by all the players and no refunds will be given
